Recently this NS issues has been one of the major topics around and lots of my friends or bloggers have been making comments or showing angers about all this issue. For many Singaporean men would know NS is a something that we gotto do. It a must or you be charge for AWOL or something like that. To be Singaporean, you are bound to serve your country ad fulfill your duty.
Too bad some guy who just has left the country for so long & got caught, charged for his part on failure to serve the country. In the end – He got away with a fine and Scott-free who now no longer Singaporean.. To me, no amount of money is able to compensate for his failure to serve his natural born country. Wait guys & especially ladies.. Here me out my view.
1st of all lets look at his upbringing.. He was educated or brianwashed.. (Be it what you say or view it) by his parent to go oversea.. So naturally he has somehow feel “Why do I come back & serve my country after so long?” Come on people.. This is human nature..
Furthermore using money to resolve this issue is a very so bad move. No I’m not asking him to be thrown into jail. That will not make this guy to change his mind on serving the country.. Why don’t we look at this way? Our gov has been talking about total defense for so many years.. & all 5 pillars are equally important on the survival of Singapore.. If he has not contribute much in the Defense, then why don’t we see if he has or able to contribute on another 4 pillars? To serve the country is not all about taking up the M-16 making some shots or wearing the green uniform. Also using fine or jail terms should be the last resort. Here we are telling everyone that “ You & you must die die serve NS” but at the sametime not much people show it a causes to serve the country. Especially Singapore ladies..

I’m very sure if you ask.. Just ask her what she going to do when there’s war.. Pretty sure she will go blank.. Not knowing how to ans it.. Couple years back there’s rumors saying SAF may draft ladies for NS.. How many of them was against it? Even my sis make a big fuss about it when it totally not true. Looking at what is going on in US – True they believe equal rights for man & woman.. But at the sametime the ladies do their part in serving their national. Here general ladies like Lynn would not even want anything to do with Army.
Sorry lady.. I don’t mean anything. Yes there are some ladies who are not in the same rank as what I’m sayings above. But I hopefully you can stop complaining and pre-judge us In general – We are still not mature enough as a strong nation.
